Alison Hutchinson

Managing Director & Senior Wealth Planner, Brown Brothers Harriman

Ali has over 15 years of experience in the private banking industry and focuses on values-based planning with a concentration in family businesses. In her role, Ali provides clients with investment, philanthropic, trust and estate advice to help navigate life transitions, including retirement, intergenerational wealth transfer and the succession of privately held companies. As a leader of the BBH Center for Family Business, Next Generation Experience, and Center for Women & Wealth, she advises families on how to link succession plans to real life, including facilitating open, productive conversations about wealth, family and values to help ensure each unique plan is resilient and durable.

Ali is a frequent contributor to print and broadcast media, appearing in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, Kiplinger, Bloomberg, MarketWatch, Business Insider, ThinkAdvisor and CNBC, and was featured on the WSJ Secrets of Wealthy Women podcast.

Prior to joining Brown Brothers, Ali was in private legal practice at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York City, specializing in trust and estate planning – developing and implementing strategies to achieve preservation and transmission of family wealth while minimizing transfer taxes.

Ali serves on the Executive Committee of the board of directors of the New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, is a cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College, and earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a Dillard Fellow. Ali lives in Manhattan with her husband, Scott and their three children.

Stacia Kroetz

Senior Wealth Planner, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH)

As a Senior Wealth Planner in the New York office, Stacia Kroetz advises families and business owners on matters relating to tax and estate planning, philanthropy, business succession, and the preservation of wealth for future generations.

Prior to joining the firm in 2018, Stacia was in private legal practice in the Trusts and Estates department at Seward & Kissel LLP, where she focused on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. Earlier in her career, she was an auditor at KPMG.

Stacia graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University with a B.S. in accounting. She received her MBA from Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration and her J.D. from Boston College Law School. She is also a licensed CPA.

Anne Warren

Senior Wealth Planner, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH)

Anne Warren is the Senior Wealth Planner in the Boston office and has spent her career advising business owners and families on wealth transfer planning, philanthropy, and business succession. As a leader of the BBH Center for Women & Wealth and the Center for Family Business, she works with clients at the intersection of wealth, family, and values, providing the advice and tools necessary to successfully navigate significant transitions, including retirement, the succession of a privately held business and preparing the next generation.

Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Anne was an attorney in private legal practice at Choate, Hall & Stewart LLP, specializing in estate planning strategies designed to preserve and transfer family wealth, achieve philanthropic goals and minimize transfer taxes.

Anne is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, The Boston Foundation Professional Advisors Committee, and the board of directors of the Atlantic Salmon Federation. She is a cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College and received her J.D. from Boston University School of Law.


David Shaw

Publishing Director, Family Business Magazine

David Shaw is the publishing director for MLR Media. He also co-founded and serves as conference director of the Transitions conferences, the Private Company Governance Summit and Family Business Legacy. David writes frequently on governance issues for public and private companies, and develops and maintains close relationships with multi-generational family-owned businesses. He is married, with two grown children.
