Activists ask Jennifer Lopez to cut ties with Fiat

Activist group United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) has asked singer and actress Jennifer Lopez to end her endorsement of Fiat cars because the company does business with Iran,

the Huffington Post reported.

The Huffington Post report said that a Fiat subsidiary, Iveco, sells and distributed trucks in Iran. According to UANI, Iveco trucks have been used as a means to relocate missiles and to “stage gruesome public executions.”

UANI has sent open letters to Lopez and to Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne. The letter to Marchionne urges the company to cut ties to Iran and notes that Kia and Toyota have already done so, according to the report. (Source: Huffington Post, Jan. 12, 2012.)
