Bassetts Ice Cream makes deal with supermarket chain, enters Mideast




Bassetts Ice Cream, a fifth-generation Philadelphia company, has made a deal with supermarket chain Giant Food Stores to put its products in 31 Giant stores in the region without a slotting fee,

the

Philadelphia Business Journal

reported.

Eight Bassetts flavors are being sold in pint-sized packages.


Bassetts is also sold in Whole Foods markets, the article said.


The company has also entered the Middle East, shipping its first order to Qatar via distributor Majestic Foods, the article said. International business accounts for nearly 20% of Bassetts revenue, the article said. (Source:
