Comcast buys DreamWorks Animation for $3.8 billion




Comcast NBCUniversal has agreed to buy DreamWorks Animation in a deal valued at $3.8 billion,

the

Philadelphia Business Journal

reported.


The deal is one of Comcast's biggest since its plan to acquire Time Warner Cable fell through last year, the article said.


DreamWorks Animation stockholders will receive $41 in cash for each share of DreamWorks common stock, the report said. DreamWorks CEO and co-founder Jeffrey Katzenberg will become chairman of DreamWorks New Media and a consultant to NBCUniversal, the journal article said.
