Germany's Schwarz Group plans expansion into U.S.




German discount supermarket chain Lidl is planning an “aggressive U.S. expansion,” its first outside Europe,

Philadelphia Inquirer

reported.

Lidl is a unit of Germany's private, family-owned Schwarz Group conglomerate.


Lidl is searching for an acquisition manager and three other real estate staffers in Philadelphia and an acquisition manager in Pittsburgh. The company also seeks to fill more than 100 other positions in states between Virginia and Georgia, the
