GOJO Industries, owned by the Kanfer family, has expanded its product offerings into surface disinfecting and sanitizing spray products,
the
Akron Beacon Journal
reported.
The company is offering a food-service sanitizer, a healthcare surface disinfectant and a professional surface disinfectant for offices ad schools. The products, branded as Purell Surface Sprays, debuted in September, the report said.
GOJO also has launched Purell Healthy Soap, a new product line in the consumer retail market. There are three varieties in the Healthy Soap line.
Chairman and CEO Joe Kanfer told the
Beacon Journal
that Purell hand saintizer, created in 1988, didn't turn a profit until 1997, when it was launched in the consumer market.
GOJO says its products now have hundreds of millions of users worldwide and has a “Big Hairy Audacious Goal” of increasing that number to more than 1 billion, the report said.
Another goal, announced in 2015, is for the company to cut its chemical footprint in half, according to the report. (Source:
