Hallmark moves temps off its payroll




Hallmark Cards Inc. its moving all its temporary employees — about 185 on-call workers and 130 casual labor workers off its payroll,

the

Kansas City Business Journal

reported.

The temps, many of whom are Hallmark retirees, will become employees of staffing company Guidant Group, the article said.

The journal report noted that in 2004, Hallmark outsourced 145 IT workers to Affiliated Computer Services Inc. in a seven-year deal worth $230 million; in 2003, the company moved other tech jobs to IBM. However, in 2010, the company centralized some distribution operations that it previously had farmed out, the article said. (Source:
