Metropoulos family selling Pabst to Russian brewer




The Metropoulos family's consumer-products investment firm, C. Dean Metropoulos & Co., is selling Pabst Brewing Co. to Russian brewer Oasis Beverages in partnership with private-equity firm TSG Consumer Partners LLC,

the

Wall Street Journal

reported.


The deal values Pabst at $700 million to $750 million, the


Journal


report said. Oasis will take a majority stake and TSG will be a minority owner, the article said.


Metropoulos bought Pabst in 2010 from a charitable foundation for about $250 million, the

article said. Pabst also owns the Schlitz, Colt 45, Old Milwaukee and other brands.


Oasis, which also produces soft drinks and juice, has operations in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus, the article said. (Source:
