Mitt Romney rejoins Marriott board

Former Republican presidential candidate and Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is rejoining the board of directors at Marriott International,

the Associated Press reported.

Romney previously served on the Marriott board from 1993 to 2002 and then again from 2009 to 2011. He left in 2002 to campaign for Massachusetts governor; in 2011, he stepped down to campaign for president, the AP report said.

Romney, whose full name is Willard Mitt Romney, was named after J.W. (John Willard) Marriott, who founded the company in 1927 and was a close friend of Romney’s father, the AP article noted.
