Cognac maker Rémy Cointreau SA has named Valerie Chapoulaud-Floquet as its CEO,
Bloomberg reported.
She will report to chairman François Heriard Dubreuil. The Heriard Dubreuil family controls the company.
Chapoulaud-Floquet was formerly president and CEO of the Americas region for the Louis Vuitton brand at LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA, which she joined in 2008. Prior to joining LVMH, she spent more than 20 years at L’Oréal, where she held executive positions in Asia, Europe and North America.
Rémy Cointreau reported a 39% drop in annual profit due largely to declining sales in China, one of its largest markets. The stock has dropped 20% in the past year, the Bloomberg report noted. (Source: Bloomberg, June 10, 2014.)
