James Oseland, the former editor-in-chief of
Saveur
who rejoined publisher Rodale Inc. last year, is launching a new Rodale magazine called
Organic Life
, according to a
New York Times
article
.
Oseland is working with Rodale CEO Maria Rodale on the new project. The magazine is a rebranding of Rodale's
Organic Gardening
and will focus more on lifestyle — food, well-being and home — and less on soil and plants. Oseland previously worked at Rodale in the early 2000s as managing editor of the now-defunct title
Organic Style
, the report noted.
Rodale is a private publisher and does not release revenue figures. Maria Rodale, granddaughter of founder J.I. Rodale, says the company is profitable, the
Times
report noted.
Organic Gardening
's circulation rose 6.8% last year, to more than 320,000 according to the article.
The revamped publication, which will be published every two months, has higher-quality paper stock with brighter photographs than its predecessor. (Source:
