Judy Canavan

Global Employer Services Managing Director, Compensation Consulting, BDO

Judy Canavan has more than 30 years of experience in compensation consulting and design. She leads BDO USA’s Compensation Surveys practice and is a Managing Director in the Global Employer Services practice.
In addition to implementing custom compensation research and surveys, Judy focuses on helping companies tie their compensation programs to their organizational strategy. She conducts complex competitive assessment assignments, designs annual and long-term incentive plans, develops compensation packages for board directors, and conducts custom compensation and total-rewards surveys.

Prior to joining BDO, Judy founded the company HR+Survey Solutions. She has also worked with Sibson Consulting and served as a senior compensation consultant in several management capacities, including overseeing the custom compensation survey area and the Data Analysis and Research Services division. In addition, Judy served on the faculty at the University of Southern California, Bovard College as an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management.

Judy spearheaded a major research initiative into corporate governance, the results of which were cited in Directors and Boards, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times. She has been published in Directors and Boards as well as in Workspan and WorldatWork Journal.


Jason Brooks

Global Employer Services Managing Director, Compensation Consulting Practice Leader, BDO

Jason Brooks has more than 15 years of experience providing compensation services to Boards of Directors, senior management, and owners of public and private companies. Jason works with companies on all aspects of compensation programs, including short- & long-term incentive programs, director compensation, compensation and performance peer groups, understanding competitive pay levels, IPO/SPAC readiness, salary structures, and M&A/transaction/retention planning.

Prior to joining BDO, Jason worked at a Big Four firm and at Semler Brossy Consulting Group.

Jason works across industries, with experience including aerospace & defense, consumer products, distribution and logistics, entertainment, financial services, industrial & manufacturing, insurance, oil & gas, professional services, real estate/REIT, travel & leisure, technology, and utilities.


Kathryn Radle Moors

Global Employer Services Manager, Compensation Consulting, BDO

Kathryn Radle Moors has experience providing compensation services and expertise as a consultant as well as an in-house compensation professional.

Prior to joining BDO, Kathryn began her career in compensation consulting at Semler Brossy Consulting Group, working primarily with public companies on executive compensation. Clients ranged from established bellwethers to recently public companies and covered healthcare, distribution, paper & packaging, and technology. Building on her experience as a consultant, Kathryn worked in-house as part of the compensation teams at Snap, Inc. and Oaktree Capital Management.

Kathryn provides guidance on all compensation aspects, including benchmarking, long- and short-term incentive design, equity grant practices, job architecture, and the maintenance of salary structures and annual compensation planning.


David Shaw

Publishing Director, Family Business Magazine

David Shaw is the publishing director for MLR Media. He also co-founded and serves as conference director of the Transitions conferences, the Private Company Governance Summit and Family Business Legacy.

David writes frequently on governance issues for public and private companies, and develops and maintains close relationships with multi-generational family-owned businesses. He is married, with two grown children.
