Family offices and family businesses face a unique balancing act in 2025: rising operational costs are putting pressure on budgets in tandem with cybersecurity risks growing more complex and harder to manage. According to Omega Systems’ latest survey, family offices show the lowest confidence among financial firms in their employees’ ability to spot AI-powered attacks, with ransomware and deepfake impersonations ranking among their greatest fears.
At the same time, 78% believe a successful attack would trigger investor panic and withdrawals, and two-thirds admit their reliance on legacy systems would hinder recovery. With high-net-worth assets making them a prime target, family offices and family businesses can no longer afford to treat cybersecurity as secondary to cost control.
