A.G. Sulzberger takes over N.Y. Times’ opinion section




Arthur Gregg Sulzberger, deputy publisher of the

New York Times,

will oversee the paper’s opinion section. He is taking over those duties from his father, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr., the

Times

’ publisher,

Dylan Byers of CNN Money reported.

“Historically, both the news and opinion divisions have reported to the publisher,” reported Byers, who said the move signals that A.G. Sulzberger “is one step closer to taking over the paper his family has owned since the late 19th century.”

Two other members of A.G. Sulzberger’s generation have been mentioned as potential candidates for the publisher’s job: Sam Dolnick, a masthead editor, and David Perpich, who works on the

Times
