Family grocer buys four Dominick's locations




Joe Caputo & Sons Fruit Market, which owns three grocery stores in Chicago’s northwest suburbs, has acquired four locations formerly occupied by the Dominick’s chain,

the

Chicago Tribune

reported.

Joe Caputo & Sons, which took over the stores on Jan. 25, plans to renovate them and reopen them in the spring, the article said. Caputo, a 25-year-old family-owned business, is affiliated with Chicago-based supermarket network IGA, the

Dominick’s parent, California-based Safeway Inc., closed the 72-store chain on Dec. 28, the report noted. (Source:
