IKEA Group, which owns most of the IKEA stores worldwide, has named Jesper Brodin as its new CEO, effective September 1. Brodin will replace Peter Agnefjall, who will leave the company.
Brodin, who has worked for IKEA for 20 years, currently heads IKEA of Sweden. Agnefjall, who has been CCEO since 2013 and has worked at the company for 22 years, said he would take some time off before his next venture,
Reuters reported.
IKEA Group is a franchisee to Inter IKEA Group, which owns the brand. IKEA Group’s parent company is INGKA Holding. The company is owned through a complex structure established by founder Ingvar Kamprad, whose family controls the business. (Source: Reuters, May 24, 2017.)
