Non-family executive has more visible role at PPR




Jean-François Palus, group managing director at PPR, the French luxury and lifestyle conglomerate, “has become more visible and vocal as group spokesman,”

article said.

Palus, formerly head of PPR’s mergers and acquisitions unit, is deputy executive to chairman and CEO François-Henri Pinault, whose father founded the company.

Palus and Pinault went to business school together and have known each other for three decades, the

report noted.

Pinault now runs PPR’s luxury business, and Palus runs the sport and lifestyle division.

Colleagues say the two understand each other well and their private meetings are full of humour and jokes.

PPR’s luxury business accounts for 64% of sales and 90% of profits. Analysts have advocated that the group drop its sports lifestyle business, the report noted. (Source:
