โ€œMy fatherโ€™s commitment to improving the lives of others is evident by his day-to-day values along with his involvement in the communities where we work,โ€ says Brad Schmidt. โ€œFrom a young age, he instilled in me the values that he brings to CG Schmidt, values of caring, integrity, accountability and excellence.โ€

โ€œMy great-grandfather founded CG Schmidt in 1920. Being immersed in this legacy from an early age prompted my interest in contributing to the industry in some way,โ€ Rick Schmidt says. โ€œAlways knowing I would stay close and connected to the family business, I took time to carve out my own path at a leading road-building company, while at the same time serving on CG Schmidtโ€™s board of directors. When I was asked to succeed my father at CG Schmidt, I jumped at the opportunity to help carry on the family legacy.

โ€œMy experience growing up in the family business showed me how the company had thrived and succeeded by balancing change with continuity, so my goal as a leader has been to champion growth and innovation while remaining firmly grounded in the lessons and values that have sustained CG Schmidt through the generations. For me, all of this is built on a foundation of caring โ€” caring about our employees, our clients and the communities where we work. Our mission is to create exceptional facilities that improve the lives of others. Iโ€™m proud of our company and our employeesโ€™ commitment to carrying out our mission through exceptional service to our clients and in giving back to the communities we serve.โ€
