The Jelly Belly Candy Co., formerly known as Goelitz Confectionary Company, is moving production of its Jelly Belly brand of jelly beans out of its North Chicago factory to the company headquarters in Fairfield, Calif., the

reported. The move will involve the elimination of 70 Chicago jobs, the article said.
The Chicago factory will now make private-label products for the company and do contract manufacturing, the

The company is managed by fourth-, fifth- and sixth-generation members of the Goelitz family, the article said.
The company, which started by making candy corn, has been making candy in Illinois since 1913 and has made the Jelly Belly brand in Chicago since 1978, the
