Founder's son to take over at Chick-fil-A




S. Truett Cathy, founder and chairman of Chick-fil-A Inc., is stepping down from the helm of the $4.6 billion company,

the

Atlanta Business Chronicle

reported.

He will be succeeded by his son Dan Cathy, the COO, the article said.

Chick-fil-A has introduced new restaurant spinoffs named “Truett” in honor of the founder, including Truett’s Grill, Truett’s Pizza Café and Truett’s Luau, the article said.

A statement made last year by Dan Cathy that Chick-fil-A supports “the biblical definition of the family unit” sparked a boycott of the company by gay-rights activists.
