Holding company merges meat firms from across U.S.




Catelli Bros. Inc., a Collingswood, N.J. lamb and veal processor, has merged its operations with a new, as-yet-unnamed private holding company that also owns two calf farms in the Midwest, a Wisconsin feed producer and a processing plant in the Los Angeles area,

the

Philadelphia Inquirer

reported.

Catelli Bros. CEO Anthony P. Catelli Jr. told the

Inquirer:

“My family has been in the business since 1946. This protects us so we’re around for another 60 years.”

Catelli Bros. has 250 of the holding company’s 350 employees, the article said. Catelli, who will be in charge of meat operations in the U.S., did not disclose how ownership of the holding company would be divided. Catelli Bros. annual sales had been estimated at $90 million. (Source:
