CGS Services Inc., a family-owned waste management and recycling company that serves 14 Indiana counties, has been acquired by Advanced Disposal, a publicly traded solid waste company based in Florida, according to

Financial details were not disclosed, the article said.
CGS Services has been family-owned and -operated since 1946 and generates nearly $30 million in annual revenues, the article said.
Linda Muegge, third-generation vice president of CGS Services, told the
Daily Reporter
that the sale will allow her to focus more on non-profit work in the community.
A statement said the acquisition would enable the company to expand further into Indiana.
Advanced Disposal is the fourth-largest solid waste company in the U.S., with 5,400 employees; it serves 16 states and the Bahamas, the article said.
CGS was founded by Elmer Caldwell, who cleared gravel, rock and clay from farmland. His son, Paul Caldwell, joined him in the business. The company eventually started selling gravel; in 1968, it became Caldwell Gravel Sales Inc.
