Family-controlled Canam to go private




Canam Group Inc., a Quebec-based company that makes customized products for the North American construction industry, announced that it plans to go private. Members of the founding Dutil family will partner with private equity firm American Industrial Partners (AIP), which will become the majority shareholder.

The Dutil family and two institutional shareholders will own up to 40% of the equity. The deal is valued at about $875 million, including the assumption of debt.
