Join Doug Baumoel, founder of Continuity Family Business Consulting and co-author of “Deconstructing Conflict: Understanding Family Business, Shared Wealth and Power”, for an eye-opening hour tackling the toughest questions about managing conflict in family enterprises.
Drawing on more than two decades of experience advising family businesses, Baumoel will debunk common myths about conflict, including the idea that “conflict is good” or that “if you’re having conflict, you need a psychologist.” He’ll share what truly drives conflict in enterprising families and why it can become so entrenched, emotional and damaging.
This webinar will explain the crucial distinctions between disagreements, disputes and deep-seated conflicts — and how to approach each effectively. It will also provide insight into when and how to bring in outside professionals such as mediators, therapists, consultants, or coaches — emphasizing that matching the right support to the underlying issue is key.
Whether your family enterprise is navigating growing pains, generational transitions or unspoken tension, this session will offer clarity, practical tools and guidance for fostering stronger relationships and better outcomes.
In this webinar, you will:
- Understand the Role of Support Professionals: Learn how mediators, psychologists, consultants, litigators and coaches can each help — or hurt — depending on the situation.
- Recognize Systemic Identity-Based Conflict: Gain insight into deep-rooted, identity-driven conflict and how to identify and respond to it in your own family enterprise.
- Learn to Prevent Escalation: Discover simple frameworks and skills to spot early warning signs and resolve tensions before they escalate.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain practical tools for resolving conflict and strengthening your family enterprise.
